Sauna redesign concepts

Visual directions for the homepage and the dashboard, starting with Kiuas, the combined concept. They are clickable mockups with made-up data. Nothing here logs in, saves anything, or talks to the real bot. Each concept has its own light and dark theme, and its own theme switch.

Kiuas

The combined concept. Cedar's homepage and dashboard, refined.

  • Four themes: Auto, Light, Dark, and Dusk, the Afterglow evening palette (sunset icon).
  • Discord-style server list on the left of the dashboard, with tooltips, a selection pill and smooth switching.
  • New mascot art for the hero, modules, empty states and celebrations.
  • More microinteractions: count-up numbers, a clickable setup checklist, a sliding nav indicator, springy switches and save states.

Earlier concepts

1. Cedar

Calm and product-first. Stone neutrals with a copper signature.

  • The hero is a working mini dashboard: new tickets arrive while you read.
  • Modules are explained with the real controls, one at a time.
  • Dashboard: classic sidebar, setup checklist, module switches, Discord-style save bar for settings.
  • Type: Schibsted Grotesk.

2. Afterglow

Atmospheric. The theme is the time of day: dawn in light mode, dusk in dark mode.

  • A painted sky, hills and the mascot with rising steam (pausable).
  • "A day in Pixel Kitchen" timeline shows what Sauna posts, hour by hour.
  • Dashboard: no sidebar, module tabs, overview as a board of tiles. Switches save instantly; text has its own Save button.
  • Type: Fraunces and Figtree.

3. Löyly

Discord-native and bold. Cool steam slate with an ember accent.

  • The hero is a #general channel where Sauna removes a scam link, hands out roles and congratulates a level-up.
  • Bento feature grid with thick outlines and real message previews.
  • Dashboard: Discord's own layout (server rail, module column) plus a live preview of every message as you edit it.
  • Type: Bricolage Grotesque and Atkinson Hyperlegible.
